Title: Tickets in advance?

I see a lot of talk about advanced tickets.  Do you have to buy advanced tickets for most clubs in LA?  Can I get them at the door?  Is that frowned upon? Thanks for the help.

Buying tickets online is usually the easiest way to go for most dance clubs (the ones with big name djs) in LA.  Buying the tickets online is also usually a  little cheaper than buying at the door.  Plus, the line to get in if you bought your tickets online is usually a lot faster.  There are two places to buy tickets online from, wantickets and groovetickets.  d3 used to have a ticketing area, but it seems to be down now.  

If you are going to a cheese Hollywood club, the story is different.  You usually have to haggle with some asshole doorman and wait out in front, even if there is no one inside.  Also be sure that you have a good guy-girl ratio or you'll be waiting a really long time.  Unless you like a bunch of posers and plastic women, I would avoid this scene.

Thanks.  I'm going to try getting the tickets online and see how it goes.  Now the question is which show to go to.

Yes unless you are walking in with 3-4 girls and know the doorman and/or clubowner, advance tix are a necessity in LALAland  8)
