I'm looking forward to seeing the influence Godskitchen will have on Spundae. At first I have to admit, I was a bit unsure. Spundae have put on many memorable nights over the past few years in Los Angeles (even longer if you spent any time in San Francisco). To some of us it has become like a second home on Saturday nights. I guess my first thoughts to hearing the Godskitchen news was, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". The more I think about it, maybe some new blood will breathe some new life into the LA scene.
I think just needed a little reassurance that this would be a good thing. I finally got it. I was reading
John 00 Fleming's March write-up and he offers the highest praise to Godskitchen. Here is what he wrote:
Last month I played my heart out to a crowd that was very intelligent, they knew their music, the atmosphere was electric and I didn't have to play one anthem. No I'm not talking about one of my foreign trips abroad at one of my clubs that I'm all ways bragging about. I'm talking about GodsKitchen in Birmingham. In my eyes they are going to be the saviours of my UK club scene. This year they have completely turned this club around making it into the most forward thinking clubs in the UK.
